Franklin D. Fuqua, age 87, a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Frank retired from Soil Conservation Service (SCS) in 1994 with 32 years of service to the farmers and people of Baldwin County. Frank continued to work with various other contractors throughout the county after his retirement. Frank’s handprints are evident throughout the county with many ponds, lakes, terraces, drainage ditches and irrigation systems. He loved his job and working with the landowners of Baldwin County, and he loved Fish River Baptist Church. He cherished his family greatly and his beloved wife, Mrs. Peggy, whom he was married to for nearly 60 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Fuqua and stepson, Robert Woods. Frank is survived by one brother, Edger Fuqua (Ruth) of Panama City, FL; sons, Frank Jr. Fuqua (Debra), Mark Fuqua (Sonya), loved like a daughter, Pam Henley; grandchildren, Tabitha Fuqua, Brittany Delaney (Caleb), Ace Fuqua (Rachel), Drew Fuqua (Zoey); great grandchildren, Rhys and Hadley Rome, Kennedy Fuqua and Sadie Jane Fuqua; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Fish River Baptist Church. Funeral services to be held at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Timney South River Park Cemetery.
