Frankie Christine Ferrell Sherman

Frankie Christine Ferrell Sherman of Fairhope, Alabama, died Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her home in Fairhope, Alabama at 92 years old. Frankie was born on October 18, 1932, in Talladega, Alabama to the George William Ferrell and Jesse Mae “Fronie” Mann Ferrell. 

She was a graduate of Talladega High School where she was awarded a scholarship to University of Alabama in a Speech Competition. She chose instead to dedicate herself to rearing a family. Her husband, Harry Walker Sherman, Sr. worked in the forest products industry requiring many moves with their family during her life. She was a landed immigrant of Canada on three separate occasions.

She was a founding member of Jubilee Shores United Methodist Church of Fairhope, Alabama where she attended many years. She also was a founding member of Celebration United Methodist Church in Daphne, Alabama. Frankie taught Sunday School for over 25 years. She was involved in her communities and enjoyed working with charity organizations including serving as Chair of the Ouachita Parish, Louisiana Chapter of The American Diabetes Association and working with United Way of Louisiana.

Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, George William Ferrell and Jesse Mae “Fronie” Mann Ferrell and her husband, Harry Walker Sherman, Sr.

She is survived in life by three sons: Harry Walker Sherman, II of Fairhope, AL, John William Sherman (Marie) of Hidden Valley Lake, CA and James Alan Sherman of Fairhope, AL; three grandchildren: Harry Walker Sherman III, Coby Sherman (Amber), Nachole Berg; six great-grandchildren: Summer Hart, Jett Berg, Coco Sherman, Charity Sherman, Lucas Sherman, Jackson Sherman and Benjamin Nile Sherman and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, from 12:00 until 1:00pm at, Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home 19698 Greeno Rd., Fairhope, AL 36532, followed by funeral services at 1:00pm in the chapel.

Interment follows at Memory Gardens: 19142 S. Greeno Rd.; Fairhope, AL 36532
