Evelyn Virginia Freeman West, age 94, a resident of Lanett, AL, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.

Evelyn was born in Lawrenceville, GA, and was a resident of Lanett, AL, most of her life. Evelyn was a member of the Lanett United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years to children. She worked in retail at Cohen’s and Mansours department stores before retiring.

Preceding her in death are; husband, Denney Leon West; son, Bobby Glenn West; parents, Hubert Eugene Freeman and Estelle Scott Freeman; grand-sons, Matthew Blake Yates and John Denney Yates.

She is survived by; daughter, Susan West (Patrick) Simms of Lillian, AL; daughter-in-law Gina (Bobby) West of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Bryan Yates, Carson West and Mackenzie West; great-grandchildren, Evan Yates, Brody Yates and Anna Yates; nieces and nephews; and many other loving relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date.
