Ethel Lois Deloney Snellgrove, age 92, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021. Background info: She was born in Ozark, Alabama on January 16, 1929 to Oscar and Luna Deloney. Ethel had seven brothers and two sisters. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents: Oscar and Luna Deloney, her brothers: Lonnie, Virgil, James, Dan, Hank and John Deloney and her younger sister Ruth Rosser. Ethel is survived by Audrey Terrell, her older sister, and Leslie and Wyatt Deloney, younger brothers. And by her daughter, Debra Snellgrove Mosely, and son, Dr. Richard Louis Snellgrove. Grandchilren: Sarah Conover Mosely, Kristin Mosely Jones, Jenna Mosely Lohnes, Courtney Snellgrove Reynolds, Dr. Cliff Wyatt Snellgrove and Mallory Boyington Also she has twelve great grandchildren: Evie-Lou Lohnes, Elias Lohnes, Jude Lohnes, Iver Daniel Jones, Mae Lois Jones, Lena Jones, Silas Reynolds, Lucas Reynolds, Delaney Reynolds, Dylan Snellgrove, Dean Jacob Snellgrove, and Simone Snellgrove. Ethel was a character with a great sense of humor. She loved to work and to garden and to bake casseroles and desserts for her family. She went to Auburn University and majored in business. She had a variety of jobs during her life from being the accountant for the Bandbox Dress shop in Jackson, TN, to the business manager for the Medicenter to the hostess for David’s Catfish House in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Ethel was a member of Eastern Shore Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School Class. Finally, she diligently and lovingly cared for her husband Louis Snellgrove the last ten years of his life. She was loved by many and is already missed. Thankful she is now with her Good Shepherd. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11:00am at the Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope Chapel. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 10:30am.
