Ernestina Carrizales Wallace, affectionately known as Tina or TexMex, passed away on May 17, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on April 19, 1957, in Rio Hondo, Texas, Tina spent the last 48 years as a resident of Summerdale, Alabama.
Tina was preceded in death by her parents, Guillermo and Dora (Rios) Carrizales, and her sister, Rosie. She is survived by her daughters, Rosalie Wallace Hyatt (Travis) and Tiffany Wallace Hamill (Jeremy). Tina was a proud grandmother to Kaisyn Phillips, Jacob Hyatt, and McKenzie Hyatt.
She also leaves behind her cherished siblings, Antonia Carrizales Allen (Steven), Guillermo Carrizales (Laura), and Feliciano Carrizales (Claudia), her many nieces and nephews, and her beloved Chihuahua, Chloe. She will be dearly missed by her extended family and a wide circle of friends.
Tina worked at Gulf Telephone Company for many years, where she formed deep and lasting friendships, considering her coworkers as part of her extended family. She loved living in Alabama, but her heart always belonged to Texas. Tina was a passionate fan of the Crimson Tide, and she never shied away from defending her favorite team.
The family extends special thanks to Cheryl Stewart for being such a blessing and friend to Tina.
Services to honor Tina's life will be held at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley, Alabama, on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.

Tina's legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
