Ernest H. Douglas, Jr, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the age of 83.

He was a marine biologist and commercial pilot. He founded the Downtown Air Center at Brookley Field. His lasting legacy was his creation and growth of D&D Land Company.

Ernest was preceded in death by his son, Michael Douglas.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Diane Douglas; daughter, Stacy Brinyark (Eddie); daughter-in-law, Jennifer Douglas, grandchildren, Jessica Brinyark, Elizabeth Brinyark, Sean Douglas and Brad Douglas (Jessica); great grandchildren, Emily Campbell, Emerson Douglas and Dax Douglas; other relatives and dear friends.

Private graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens of Fairhope. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions, to honor Ernest’s memory, to Ecumenical Ministries.
