Elwin Paul Wilde, age 82, a resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away on March 25, 2024.
Paul was a full-time minister since 1968. He founded and pastored the New Life in Christ Church in Foley, Alabama, in 1985. He was a most wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather to the family he deeply loved. Paul encouraged other pastors to be faithful shepherds. He always gave words of wisdom, and his counsel came from the Word of God. He always prayed his family through hardships. Paul enjoyed playing the saxophone and was the host of the “Victory Hour” for 36 years at WHEP radio station.
Preceding him in death are his brother, Reg Wilde, and sister, Marsha Wilde.
Paul is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Wilde; sons, Michael (Daphne) Wilde of Ariton, AL, and Dennis (Sherry) Wilde of Fruitport, MI; daughters, Kathleen Wilde of Elberta, Judith (Toby) Hollis of Foley, Janet Wilde of Foley, Deborah (Fritz) Sanks of Foley, Elizabeth (Bradley) Walker of Summerdale, Suzanne (Timothy) Courtright of Summerdale; 24 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm on March 31, 2024, at the New Life in Christ Church at 102 E. Berry Ave, Foley, AL.
A private burial will be held at Lay Cemetery in Elberta, AL, at a later date.
