Elizabeth "Betty" Edgar

Elizabeth “Betty” Marchman Edgar, age 87, a resident of Fairhope, AL passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family, Saturday, January 7, 2023.

She was a graduate of Murphy High School and Huntingdon College and taught school at various locations in North Alabama.  She was an active member of Fairhope United Methodist Church and worked at the Company of Angels for over 20 years.  She had the gift of hospitality.  Hers was a life well lived and she was well loved.

She was preceded in death by her, son-in-law, Steve Pearson and her brother, Frederick Marchman.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Arthur Edgar, Fairhope, AL; daughter, Lynne Pearson, Fairhope, AL; son, Thomas Edgar, Loganville, GA, sister, Louise (Pete) Meredith, Birmingham, AL; Robert (Charlotte) Marchman, Rainsville, AL; nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Elizabeth’s Life will be held at a later date.
