Elaine Ann Burkle

Elaine grew up in New Jersey with her mom (Angie, aka Noni), dad (Fred.. aka Dada), brother Cliffy and sister Maureen. After high school, Elaine moved to Foley, AL and married her high school sweetheart, Fred Burkle, at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic church in Gulf Shores, AL. Her husband Fred was stationed with the Navy at Barin Field. They had four children, Freddy, Merrilee, Roddy and Derrick. Elaine worked as a nurse's aid at South Baldwin Hospital while raising her four children. In addition to her own children, Elaine always welcomed the neighborhood kids to her home and enjoyed being able to help with all the mishaps of their adventures. While raising her family, Elaine also had a successful home interior decorating business, which she ran from her home for several years. Later, Elaine became involved in Health and Fitness and received her Aerobics Instructor certification. Elaine then taught aerobics at the local gym in Foley for over 15 years. After retiring from aerobics training, Elaine traveled and enjoyed her 5 grandchildren, Cody, Nicole, Tessa, Taelor, and Natalie. In her later years, she was blessed with two great grandchildren, Dorothy (Dottie) and William. 

Elaine is preceded in meeting the Lord by her mother Angie, father Frederick, brother Cliffy, sister Maureen and husband Fred. She is survived by her four children, Fred, Merrilee, Roddy and Derrick, her grandchildren Cody, Nicole, Tessa, Taelor, and Natalie, her great grandchildren Dorothy and William.

She will be buried at St. Margaret's of Scotland Church in Foley, AL on Thursday 8/15/24. Visitation from 11:30am to 12:30 pm, service at 12:30 pm w/ lunch following at the parish hall.
