Edwin Arnold Kirby

Edwin Arnold Kirby, a resident of Daphne, AL, passed away September 1, 2023, at the age of 81. Ed was the owner/operator of Kirby Electric company for over 30 years. He served as Code Enforcement Officer for 11 years for the City of Daphne, where he retired. Ed loved to travel in his RV and was a barbecue judge all over the south. He served on Lake Forest Board of Directors and the City of Daphne Planning Commission. He was also a member of the Daphne Kiwanis Club and president of the Hank Williams Fan Club. Ed is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Kirby; daughter, Jill (Howard) Wells of Montgomery; son, Mac (Amy) Kirby of Carrollton, GA; grandchildren, Gracie (Heath), Claire, Aubrie, Tanner, Barron, and Lane; brother, Donald (Sharon) Kirby of Belton, TX, nieces, nephew, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne, at 10:00am. Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Entombment will be held at Alabama Heritage Cemetery in Montgomery, AL, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials in Ed’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Spanish Trail Baptist Church, Daphne, AL.
