Edwin D. Hines

Edwin DeWayne Hines, age 66, resident of Foley passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017. Edwin was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was named Airman of the Month while serving in the Philippines. Edwin received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University. He was an electrical engineer and proud to have worked on the original space shuttle, “Columbia” and enjoyed playing saxophone at local churches. Edwin is survived by his wife, Cindy L. Hines of Foley; two daughters, Rebecca (Marcus) Griffin of Mobile,  Amanda (Eric) Hilburn of Stapleton;  two sisters, Joyce Hamilton of Ohio,  Cheryl (Ken) Hanna of Daleville;  two grandchildren, Kolby Hilburn and Laya Griffin and one on the way.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley. Funeral service will be Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 at 10:00 am from the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lay Cemetery.
