Edward D. Werneth, III (Eddie) a native of Mobile, Alabama and a resident of Orange Beach, AL died on December 12, 2024.
Eddie attended St. Joseph Elementary School and was a graduate of the McGill Institute Class of 1958. He attended the University of Alabama, Mobile Campus. He served as a member and President of the Sales and Marketing Executives Club of Mobile and was a member of the Bienville Toast Masters Club as well as an award-winning Regional Speaker.
Ed’s early career included being Vice President-Co Owner of the Paterson Wholesale Floor Covering Company with locations in Mobile, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
After retirement, Ed and Wife Tommie owned and operated The Obvious Place in Fairhope, AL. As a member of Saint Thomas by The Sea Catholic Church, Ed served as Lector and Cantor in the choir.
Preceded Eddie in death are his parents, Edward D. Werneth, Jr. and Celeste Emily Werneth; sisters, Judy W. Clark and Linda W. Mayes.
He is survived by his wife Tommie Wall Werneth; daughter Ashley P. Copeland, son- in-law Jeffrey Copeland; granddaughters, Bradley Patrice Copeland, and Britton Rae Copeland, grandson Kristopher Copeland and great granddaughter Hannah McGrady Copeland; sister Celeste W. Carnley, brother-in-laws; Foncy Clark and Louie Mayes, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Saint Thomas by the Sea in Orange Beach on January 4, 2024. Mas of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his name to the America Parkinson’s Disease Association (APDA) or a charity of your choice.
