Edward Michael Klinske, Jr. of Gulf Shores, Alabama, age 89 passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Ed was born on September 18, 1932, in Plymouth, MI, the son of Edward and Marianna (Schmidt) Klinske. Ed graduated from Plymouth High School in 1950. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1950-1953 where he attended the US Fleet Sonar School in Key West, FL. Ed served aboard the USS Norris as a sonarman 3rd class Petty Officer. Following his years in the Navy, Ed returned to Michigan where he spent his career working in civil engineering. Ed was preceded in death by his wife Therese (Francis), his wife Elaine (Seyfried), his Daughters Kathryn and Melanie, his Grandson Kyle, and daughter-in-law Rea. He is survived by his siblings Mary Lou, Jerry (Jean), Bob (Nancy); his sons Michael (Ronelle), David, Jay (Cindy), Rick (Heidi); 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; his beloved Florence and his adopted daughter Pattisue. For many years Ed was involved with Soapbox Derby, hunter safety training, the Village Historic Vehicle club and the American Legion. He was a reserve police officer with the Washtenaw County Sheriff's department and served on the Dexter, MI planning commission. Ed and his wife Elaine enjoyed traveling in their retirement years and moved to Gulf Shores full time in 2002 where they were active in their church, volunteer activities, and made many friends. A memorial service will take place at St. Andrews By the Sea, Gulf Shores, AL Wednesday March 30th at 1:00 PM for his family and friends.
