Edgar Franklin Sullivan died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He was 88 years old. He is survived by his three children, Laura Sharpless (Jerry), Blake Sullivan (Lisa), Colleen Harrison (John); his grandchildren, Rachel Hughes, Katie Sharpless, Tide Holobaugh (Elyse), Cullen Holobaugh and SPC Ian Harrison; his sister Louise Eckman and brother Mac Sullivan; along with three great-grandchildren, Gavin Alexander, Blaine and Brennan Hughes, and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife Garland W. Sullivan and great-grandson Brody, as well as six brothers and sisters and his parents. Edgar loved the Fairhope community and was well loved in return. He was a veteran, an active member of the Elks Lodge, played as much golf as he could, was a lifelong supporter of Fairhope High School Sports, as well as being an associate Hall of Fame member, and a staunch supporter of University of Alabama sports. Edgar took great pride in the accomplishments of his family and community, but especially his family. Our days will feel emptier without him in them, but we know, as did he, that this is only our temporary home and we will all be together again one day! A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 11:00am at Memory Gardens, Fairhope, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Ecumenical Ministries, Fairhope, Alabama.
