Earl Hollingshead, a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife, son, daughter-in-law and a sister-in-law. He was 74. Born on April 15, 1947, in Mobile, Alabama, to Elber and Dolores Hollingshead, Earl grew up a surrounded by a close group of friends who remained so all of his life. He graduated from Vigor High School in Pritchard in 1965 and Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi. Earl spent his career working in the oil and gas industry in Mobile. He was wise beyond his education, and people of all ages and station in life sought his advice and benefited from his counsel. He and his wife hosted a weekly Bible study for almost 20 years, and he has proudly served as President of the Pritchard Park Wrecking Crew (PPWC) since 1965 having lunch weekly with many of the members who have been friends of his for most of his life. He was happiest watching Alabama football and cooking for friends and family as they cheered on the Crimson Tide. Earl is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Phyllis Williams Hollingshead; adored son, Kevin (Jilly) Hollingshead and granddaughters, Elsie and Marnie Hollingshead, all of Montrose; mother, Dolores Hollingshead Clark of Mobile; sisters, Martha Reeves of Mobile and Diane Eubanks of Chatham and many other loving relatives and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his father, Elber Hollingshead, and his brother, Billy Ray Hollingshead. Funeral services will be Monday, December 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Family Fellowship in Spanish Fort. The family will receive friends in the church foyer from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Montrose Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ronnie Babb, John T. Crowder, Jerry Davis, Frank Martin, Howie Massengale, Larry McPhearson and Billy Oates.
