Dr. Texel Dewine Johnson

Dr. Texel D. Johnson passed away from this life on Sunday May 21, 2023. He was born in Opp, Alabama to Dewie and Edna Johnson on September 15, 1953. Dr. Johnson graduated from Opp Highschool where he was awarded the Gorgas Science Scholarship to the University of Alabama where he graduated cum laude. He was accepted into the University of South Alabama Medical School where he graduated with honors. Dr. Johnson practiced family medicine in Mobile, Alabama for over 35 years. He is survived by his partner of 41 years, James Johnson, and stepson, Scott Johnson, and a host of other family and friends. Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Timney Community Cemetery, Fish River. Reception to follow service for family and friends. Pallbearers are John Johnson, Scott Johnson, Shephard Johnson, Bobby Aldridge, Luke Stewart and Henry Dowhan. Honorary Pallbearer is Richard Blanchard.
