Dr. James O. Williams of Fairhope, Alabama passed away on December 10, 2020. Dr. Williams received his Doctorate in Educational Administration from Auburn University in 1967 and was a retired Chancellor of both Auburn University at Montgomery and The University of Southern Mississippi at the Gulf Park Campus. Dr. Williams was also a member of the United States Army Reserve where he achieved the rank of Colonel in 1988. He officially retired from the USAR in 1993 and officially retired from being a University Administrator in 2003. Dr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents, Orrin and Lucy Williams; his sister, Lucy Phillips and his son, David A. Williams. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Pamela E. Williams; sons, James O. Williams, Jr. (Maureen), John Tyler Williams (Dawn), Travis Shane Taylor (Lisa), Deric Lane Taylor (Leah); 10 amazing grandchildren, and two brothers, Dr. Jerry Williams and Colonel (retired) Walton Phillips. Dr. James O. Williams was the epitome of a Southern Gentleman.
