Dorothy “Dot” Moffitt of Spanish Fort, Alabama, died peacefully on July 21, 2022, at Westminster Village. She was born in 1935 and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was graduated from Lincoln High School, Philadelphia, Pa. Dot was devoted to her God and to her family. She faithfully attended a Baptist church in Philadelphia and married her husband of 66 years, Robert Moffitt, there in 1955. After putting her husband through college and seminary, she followed him to his first church in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. When Bob decided to become a Navy chaplain, she followed him to bases in Virginia, South Carolina, Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, and Florida over a thirty-year career. While raising three daughters, she served in many ministries and volunteer positions: Organist, piano player, Brownie Leader, Kindergarten Director, Navy Relief Society budget interviewer, Director of puppet ministries at chapels, and President of the Naval Officer’s Wives Group. She volunteered her many talents at every Navy base where they were stationed. She also worked as an Administrative Assistant at Champion/International Paper, where she was selected as the Secretary of the Year for the state of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Sarah Bond and brother Norman (Carol). She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Moffitt, and their three daughters: Amy Schneider (John), Holly Anderson (Bill), and Linda Mackaman (Gerald). She is also survived by six grandchildren: Chrissy Schneider, Mark Schneider (Lauren), James Mackaman, Jonathan Mackaman, Joshua Mackaman, and Josiah Mackaman. She also has a great grandchild due in August. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne chapel.
