Dorothy Earnest

Dorothy Earnest, 96, of Daphne passed away November16, 2021. She was surrounded by loving family and friends. She was preceded by her husband Oscar Earnest. She is survived by her daughter Faye Earnest, grandson Jeremy Carr (wife Margaret Carr), nieces, nephews, and many friends. Dorothy enjoyed having guests visit in her home, and many considered her their adopted Mother. Her home had an open door policy for neighbors and friends. A family friend recently said “Mrs Dorothy meets everyone with a smile and a hug.” A gracious lady with warmth and kindness that made anyone feel comfortable, she will be greatly missed. Dorothy enjoyed working in business environments and meeting new people. She retired several times before her last retirement from WABF radio station in Fairhope in her 80’s. Her religious faith was a major influence in her life and her prayers were a beautiful connection to her Heavenly Father. She will be reunited with her loving husband, brothers and sisters, and many friends. “Love is patient: love is kind”: Dorothy loved many people and they loved her. Special thanks to the staff of Springhill Hospice for their care and to Adelaide Chambers, a friend and caregiver. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
