Dorothy Egdorf Bremer, born July 22, 1934, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on Monday, December 6, 2021 in Fairhope, Alabama. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bernhard Peter Bremer. She is survived by her son, James Ernest Bremer and daughter, Nancy Bremer Bouler (Paul); grandchildren Elizabeth Styron Tabb (Collin), Andrew Thomas Styron (Erin), Adam Stewart Bremer, Carrie Bouler Watterson (Adam), Ruth Bouler Taylor, Clifford Paul Bouler Jr.; great-grandchildren Thomas Fisher Tabb, Taylor Winston Watterson, William Grier Watterson, Ford Ruhl Watterson and Collins Elizabeth Taylor. Dorothy was a native of New Orleans. She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Loyola University. Her Master’s Degree was in Sacred Music. As an accomplished organist, she played professionally for many years. She moved to Fairhope in 1995 with her husband Pete upon their retirement. Dorothy was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she was active in the music ministry. Dorothy spent years as a volunteer at the Fairhope Museum of History as a Docent and as a Board Member of the Friends of the History Museum. Dorothy was a Board Member of the Eastern Shore Institute of Life Long Learning. She loved being part of Fairhope’s Wisteria Garden Club, where she was an honorary member. She was also an accomplished artist, master gardener and fantastic cook. She was a lover of all things New Orleans. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be announced at a later date.
