Doris Ann Cook

Doris Ann Cook, 68, departed this world on May 13, 2021, at her Fairhope home, surrounded by family and filled with love. Doris was born in Waukon, Iowa on June 16, 1952. She was one of seven children born to Melvin and Olivia Roe. After leaving Iowa, Doris lived in Phoenix, AZ and Mobile, AL before settling in Fairhope. She would go on to become a successful businesswoman in South Alabama. Doris lived a life focused on family, friends and love. Her generosity, compassion and selflessness were known by all who knew her. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, John Riley, her parents, Melvin and Olivia Roe, and her sister, Phyllis Roe Nelson. She is survived by her siblings, James Roe, Gerald Roe, Richard Roe, Daniel Roe and Marilyn Roe, her children, Barbara Deslonde, Kristen Cox and Christopher Thies, her grandchildren, Blake Deslonde, Melvin Pose, Joseph Deslonde and Sophia Deslonde, and many friends who loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice of Baldwin County or MD Anderson Cancer Center. A private celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a date to be determined.
