Donald Henry Kempter

Donald Henry Kempter, age 93, a resident of Lillian, Alabama, passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, a few hours shy of his 94th birthday. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Kempter; 4 brothers, Robert, Chuck, Herbert, and William; sister, Theresa Ekelund. Donald was born in Brooklyn, New York. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Donald retired from the telephone industry and moved to Lillian, Alabama in 1985. He was an avid woodworker. Donald was a member of the Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church. Donald is survived by his children, Karen Lee Tobey (Bob) of Lillian, Alabama, Lorraine Russell of Lillian, Alabama, Kevin Donald Kempter of New York; granddaughter, Lindsey Lauer (Adam) of Reno, Nevada; multiple nieces and nephews; along with other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm and also 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 12:00pm at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church, in Lillian.
