Dolores Faye Chunn, age 76, a resident of Daphne, AL., passed away Friday, December 14, 2018. Dolores leaves behind many friends and family members who will greatly miss her laughter, spirit, and cooking. Her idea of hospitality was plate of comfort food and conversation around the kitchen table. And she sang along with every song she knew on the radio. She was born in Cantonment, FL., and lost her mother, Doris Stokes Rezny, at the young age of 12. That loss created an impenetrable bond between her and her beloved sister, Donna. She started dating the love of her life, Lee Boyd Chunn, while she was a student at Monroe County High School. They married and moved to Pensacola, where they both worked while he earned his degree at the University of West Florida. They started their family there and created a wealth of fond memories of visits to the beach and waterskiing on the bay with friends and family. Following brief stints in Tallahassee and Montgomery, they settled in Mobile, where they built lifetime friendships and connections. Dolores loved Auburn football, getting her nails done, traveling all over the world, eating seafood on the Causeway, and good music. She also loved a party, but she wasn’t going to be early or even on time. She couldn’t be rushed, much to the dismay of her husband, who was always ready to go. But she knew how to have fun and brought life and laughter with her wherever she went. We love you, Mimi. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lee Boyd Chunn. She is survived by her children, L. Brian (Laurie) Chunn of Spanish Fort; Dee (Timothy) Beisel of Daphne, and Sherri (Troy) Goodman of Vestavia Hills; her grandchildren, Reilly Dyas (Kayla) Chunn of Denver, CO., Collin Lanning Chunn of Birmingham, Trevor Covington Chunn of Spanish Fort, Clare Elise Goodman and Ruby Grace Goodman of Vestavia Hills, and Cameron Torrance Beisel of Daphne; and her sister, Donna (Tom) Hollingshead of Montgomery. A celebration of Dolores' life will be held Friday, December 21, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne.
