Dennis Arthur Darling

DARLING FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA Dennis Arthur Darling, 70 years of age, passed away peacefully at his home in Fairhope, Alabama on May 9th, 2022, at 7:00 PM. Dennis grew up in Dubuque, Iowa and attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School. His mother, Mary Lucille Darling, taught him the values of sincerity, kindness, and honesty. He also shared many great moments with his cousin, Rodney Darling at his grandparents’ farm in Rush City, Minnesota. Dennis and Rodney stayed close through the years and were like brothers. Dennis served proudly in the US Army. His dearest and best friend, GE Gunny McCary, who served in the US Marine Corp, shared a bond of counting on each other and always remained close through the years. He shared 19 years of marriage with Doni Darling in Poland, Ohio. He spent the last three years by his sister, Lucy, in Fairhope, Alabama. He enjoyed listening to country music as much as he loved singing the songs himself. He also loved taking his Harley Davidson out for a ride. Dennis will be remembered for his quick wit, kindness, sense of humor, and being a friend to so many. He truly loved his family and was so very proud of his children, grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. He enjoyed listening to country music as much as he loved singing the songs himself. He always said that he was fortunate to see the country through the windshield as a long-haul semi-driver. During his 40 years of driving across the country, he made friends all over. Dennis is survived by his daughter, Rochelle Wallace; son, Jimmy (Michelle) Darling, grandson, Jesse James Wallace; granddaughter, Bailey Michelle Darling; grandson, Hunter Darling; ex-wife, Doni Darling; step daughter, Katrinka (John) Csizmabia; step son, Steve Morgan; nephew, Steve (Molly) Massey and their children Mary and Henry; nephew, David Massey and his children Larissa and Luke; nephew, Scott (Janice) Massey and their children Ashley, Lilly, Lexie and Nicholas; sister, Lucy (Steve) Schwartzer; cousins, Rodney (Sharon) Darling, Kathy, Sharon and Randy; along with many other cousins, relatives and friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Alden and Mary Lucille Darling; brothers, Thomas Darling and Bruce Darling; step brothers, Earl and Gene; step sister, Joan; aunts, Mary McKinnon, Vera Linderbaum, Margaret Ferguson, Marie Campana, Thelma Darling; uncles, Harold Linderbaum, Dick Ferguson, Clinton Darling and George Campana; grandparents; Clinton and Emelia Darling; To honor Dennis’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
