Denise Yvette (Poppy) Payne, 59, of Spanish Fort, Alabama moved on to eternity on September 5th, 2017. Denise was born on November 12th, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN to Brownell Sr. and LauWana McDamon Payne. A loyal daughter, a loving sister, a doting Aunt, a faithful friend, mentor, and a helping hand to all in need. Denise, a graduate of North Central High School and St. Joseph College, lived in Spanish Fort, Alabama where she had a very successful career as a civil engineer. Denise was under the leadership in her spiritual life at a young age at Light of the World Christian Church, Indianapolis, In. She now is very active member at her home church, City Hope Malbis Campus, in Alabama. Over the years she has been active in the Children's Ministry, assisted in helping the homeless, needy and Guest Services along with various other ministries. Denise is proceeded by her Father, Brownell, Sr.; survived by Mother LauWana of Carmel, IN; her brother, Brownell Jr. (Julie) of Indianapolis, IN; brother Keith Payne (Kim) of Indianapolis, IN; nieces Chase Payne, Dolcé Payne, Kalani Payne; nephews Jacob Payne, and Grant Payne. Her family would like to express an extra thank you to her PH specialist Dr. Karen Fagan for working miracles for so many years; and to all the many other caregivers, doctors, and nurses for their dedication, genuine care, and concern for Denise. We also would like to say a special thanks to her church family and friends who having been very help upon endless request. Thank you for loving Denise as much as we do.
