Debbie Jessup passed away in the afternoon on Tuesday, April 26 at Thomas Hospital, Fairhope, she was 87 years old. She was born and raised in Massachusetts and Windsor, CT. She graduated from Swarthmore College with a B.A. in English. Debbie had various jobs during her lifetime, including social work, teaching and writing as a published author. She ended her career as a editor for environmental policies at BNA in Washington, DC. Upon retirement Deborah was a snowbird between Mawnan Smith, Cornwall and Fairhope. Her last fifteen years were spent here on the Eastern Shore. She was a member of Fairhope Unitarian Fellowship, and of various tennis, reading and wine clubs. Debbie enjoyed her retirement with friends and loved traveling to visit her children and grandchildren. She was a avid reader and loved reading stories to her great grandchildren. Debbie leaves behind daughters, Margaret McCaffrey (Pete), Jennifer Miller (Raymond); sons, Keith (Sandra) Jessup, Phillip (Annika) Jessup, Jonathan (Emilee) Jessup; grandchildren, Megan Stimpson, Kaitlin Butner, Nicole Peavler, Brett, Joe, Allison Miller, Walter Jessup, Hjalmar Jessup; great grandchildren, Henry, Ethan and Benjamin Stimpson, Dylan Butner, Zoey Peavler, and her special furry friends Trixie and Sam, other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held at her home in Daphne on Sunday, April 30, 2022 Please honor her life by giving to the charity of your choice.
