David Walter "Pops" Nielsen, Sr.

David Walter “Pops” Nielsen, Sr., age 82, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

Pops was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He served in the National Guard. Pops loved his family. He also loved driving his golf cart around Fairhope with his beloved dog, Chester. He was an avid card player and loved putting puzzles together.

He is survived by his sons, David Nielson (Kit) of Lambertville, Michigan, Jody Nielson (Lesa) of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Kory Nielsen (Sarah), Zackary Nielsen (Erika), April Hall (William), Hannah Southorn (Anthony), Emily Weiss (Ryan), Adam Nielsen; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; several nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 1:00pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Visitation for friends begins one hour prior to the service.
