MATHEWS ELBERTA, AL. Darrell Edward Mathews, Age 71, a native of Helena, Arkansas and a resident of Elberta, AL passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Mr. Mathews was Owner/ Operator of Mathews Painting and was a U.S. Marine Veteran. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tracy Scott Mathews. Survivors include his wife, Edna Mathews of Elberta, AL; one daughter, Racheal ( Joseph Nolan) Mathews of Gulf Shores, AL; three sons, Scott ( Jennifer) Mathews of Atmore, AL, Edward Craig ( Megan) Mathews of Stapleton, AL and Elvin P.J. ( Rachel) Mathews of Robertsdale, AL; three stepchildren, Robbie ( Tami) Clapper of Lillian, AL, Special stepdaughter, Ronica ( Greg) Hardin of Elberta, AL. and Bo Clapper of Elberta, AL; brother, Richard ( Donna) Mathews, sister, Linda ( Roy) Tobey, sister, Anita ( John) Beedle, sister, Bunny ( Bill) Stude, brother, Elvin (Susan) Mathews, step mother, Barbara Mathews; one granddaughter, Glenda Fay Mathews; eight step grandchildren; thirteen step great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
