Charles Larry Bryant, age 78, a resident of Spanish Fort, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023. Charles was blessed in his life with a loving wife of 32 years, Denise; two wonderful sons, Marcus “Marc” Bryant (Connie) and Michael Scott Bryant (Frankie); grandsons, Brandon, Colby and Casey; two beautiful great-grandchildren, Brantley and Emma Grace; brothers, Clifton, Doug and Darryl (Cheri); sister, Marilyn Weimorts (David). His family was his pride and joy, and he loved each and every one of them. He traveled extensively for work and pleasure. He served in US Air Force during Vietnam from 1964-65 as a Pack Rat Radio operator attached to the US Army. He received several medals for his service and a citation from the Vietnamese people for outstanding service and bravery. He and his wife returned to Vietnam in 2016, giving him great pleasure and some closure as the Vietnamese people welcomed him with open arms. Charles was an outstanding athlete at Theodore High School, graduating in 1962. He coached many years with Theodore Athletic Association little league football and baseball teams. He had several teams become state and county champions. He was a certified welder, working out of boilermakers local 112 and at Scott Paper and S.D. Warren Paper Company. A Celebration of Charles’ life will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, January 27, 2023, at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home Chapel, Daphne. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the chapel service. Inurnment will be held at 1:30pm on Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spanish Fort.
