Charles “David” Brown, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the age of 84.
He was born in Jackson, TN, to Edwin and Alice Brown.
The family relocated to Chickasaw, AL in the mid-1940s. They were founding members of St. Thomas the Apostle and were active members of that parish. David attended St. Mary’s Catholic School until the founding of the school at St. Thomas, where he finished his primary education. He continued his Catholic education through graduation at McGill High School, where he was a valued member of the baseball and football team. He loved volunteering his time to coaching youth sports in the community. He continued his education at Auburn University and enjoyed a successful career as a mortgage banker.
In 1962, David married his childhood sweetheart, Vivian. They shared 62 years of marital bliss. From this union, they had two sons and a daughter and eight amazing grandchildren. He loved his family dearly.
David is survived by his brother, Jerry Brown of San Antonio, TX; his sons Mike Brown (Kim) of Tampa, FL and Jay Brown (Julie) of Fairhope, AL; his daughter, Susy Webster (Jacob) of Fairhope; grandchildren, Matthew Brown, Kate Brown, Ryan Brown, Molly Brown, Abby Webster, Patrick Webster, Vivian Webster, and Alice Webster and numerous other relatives and friends.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on Saturday, February 15th, at 10am.
Interment will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David’s memory to the American Red Cross or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
