Captain Charles E Boswell Jr. age 89, died Monday, July 18th, 2022, at his daughter’s home in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Captain Boswell is survived by his wife Linda L Boswell and his children, Captain Charles E Boswell III (Allison), Captain Mark Anderson Boswell (Cindy), and Patsy Ann Gaylor (Ron). He is also the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren: Chas Boswell, Keegan Carson, Chris Boswell, Maxwell Carson, Mary Elizabeth Perkins, Paige Boswell, Payton Boswell, Madison Richards, Austin Meyers; and 8 great-grandchildren: Chase Boswell, Molly Boswell, Miles Boswell, Brooks Boswell, Annie Boswell, Beckett Perkins, Amelia Perkins, Scottie Perkins. Charlie began his career as a pilot by joining the Air Force in 1955. He then became an airline pilot with Eastern Airlines from 1964 to 1989. After leaving Eastern, he became the Fleet Manager 757 for American Trans Air in Indianapolis. After his retirement with American Trans Air, he began working for the FAA overseeing the Boeing 757/767 fleet for Delta Airlines. He retired with the FAA in Feb 2012 to Seneca, South Carolina with his wife, Linda, until moving to Gulf Shores in May 2016 to be closer to their daughter Ann. Charlie was a respected leader in his field and well known for his compassionate heart and dedication to a job well done. Until the very end, Charlie could still win you over with his smile and sweet disposition. He was proud of his 38 year marriage to his wife Linda and his three children. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, August 14th at The Lodge at the State Park in Gulf Shores, AL from 3-7pm.
