Catherine Ann Conely Schultz, age 78, a resident of Foley, Alabama, (originally from Louisville, Kentucky,) returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Catherine was a graduate of Southern High School Class of 1964, being recognized into the Hall of Fame in 2013. She graduated from University of Louisville with of Bachelor of Science in Education, earned a Master of Education at the University of Louisville, receiving her Rank 1 certification. She dedicated her life to teaching, serving in Bullitt County, KY, earning the title of Kentucky Chapter 1 Reading Teacher of the Year in 1988.
Catherine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Foley and Agape Sunday School class. Catherine was an avid volunteer serving as “Inventory Analyst” at the FBC Family Ministry Center.
Cathy was a long-time member of the Okolona Woman’s Club serving as President for two terms. She served for the Miss Kentucky franchise for many years.
Cathy was an avid University of Kentucky fan. She was a life-long crafter enjoying many types of crafts. Cathy loved to decorate for every holiday inside and out. She loved gardening and especially her “Fairy Garden”.
Preceding her in death are her siblings, Thomas, Robert, and Carolyn Conely, her beloved parents Henry Lane Conely and Vera Hall Conely and her constant canine companion Chance of 23 years.
She is survived by; her spouse Tom Schultz of Foley, AL (formerly from Louisville, KY); daughter, Allison Pape Deaton (Dean) of Louisville, Ky; granddaughter, Madison Deaton of Louisville, Ky; and her loving canine companion Lady Pip; and a host of many other loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life to be held both in Foley, AL and Louisville, KY at a later date.
