Carson Eugene McFarland, age 93, a native of Jamestown, KY and a long time resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017. He served in the United States Army during World War II (1943 ̶ 1945) and was deployed to Northern France, the Rhineland, and Central Europe. He was employed by International Paper Company in Mobile from 1947 ̶ 1985, retiring as Maintenance Supervisor. Carson was an avid golfer and member of Skyline Country Club for over 30 years. Carson is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Doris McFarland; parents, Maud L. McFarland and Joseph R. McFarland; daughter-in-law, Arlene L. McFarland; and seven siblings. Survivors include his sons Stevan McFarland (Wanda) and Vaughan McFarland, and daughter Cindy Thompson (Terry). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Stevan (Heather) McFarland, Jr; Matthew McFarland; Brian (Kiri) McFarland; Jonathan McFarland; Ty (Effie) Thompson; and Mary Tanner (Wayne) Sanders; and ten great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope. Private graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens of Fairhope at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to William F.
