Carrel “Sonny” Elbert Cometti, Sr., age 88, a resident of Spanish Fort, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2022.
Sonny was a lifetime resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama, and a proud veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. He was inducted into the Fairhope Football Hall of Fame, and avid hunter, fisherman, and sportsman.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy “Dot” Cometti; parents, Pete and Zadie Cometti; grandson, Jason Cometti; sisters, Christine Buzbee and Amellia “Sugar” Volking.
He is survived by his devoted children, Perry (Royce) Lee of Fairhope, Kim Manly of Spanish Fort, and Carrel “Bubba” (Angela) Cometti, Jr. of Spanish Fort; sister Gladys Enzor of Spanish Fort; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many other loving relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Wilson Cemetery.
