Carolyn Joyce Duck

Carolyn Joyce Duck, born December 22, 1947, to James Vernon Jones and Linnie Griffith Jones, died on October 16, 2024 at the University Hospital in Mobile. She was 76 years old. She was a native of Prentiss, Mississippi and a resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 44 years, Harold Duck and her loving daughter Renee (Steve) Cheatham of Gulf Shores, Alabama, three grandsons, Cameron (Leeanne) Moorer and Caleb (Maryssa) Moorer, both of Daphne, Alabama, Bryce Cheatham (Artavia) of Austin Texas, great grandson, Emmett, her sister Linda Womack of New Hebron, Mississippi, her Sister In Law, Nina (Ken) Hofman of Stapleton, Alabama and multiple nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by her brother, Larry Jones.  

Carolyn loved animals and flowers and cared for them with close attention. She had innumerable friends at her church and community. She was an excellent interior decorator and was sought out regularly for advice or with a request to improve the appearance of the home of a neighbor or friends. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed preparing and serving meals at her home for others as well as delivering meals to the people who were not able to come to her home. She prepared a lavish feast for the extended family each Thanksgiving and Christmas. 

The family will receive friends at the Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne, Alabama on Monday, October 21, at 10:00 a.m. The service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Robert Baker and Reverend Richard Ullo officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to The Prodisee Pantry in Spanish Fort, AL.
