Ruby Carolyn Little Donnell, age 88, a resident of Spanish Fort, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Carolyn Donnell, a wife, mother, and devoted member of the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church will be dearly missed by all. Her devotion to the community and friends was steadfast. Her volunteer work with the Daphne Public Library and the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church was always a priority. In the early years of the Spanish Fort Community, Carolyn was involved in many organizations. Fond of her roots on The Farm in Pigeon Creek, AL, she rarely missed the Thanksgiving Family Reunions. Examples of her service to the community throughout the years include; volunteering at Thomas Hospital Snack Bar as a cook, Member of Eastern Shore Senior Travel Club, Spanish Fort Garden Club, and many varied committees of Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies included playing bridge, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, reading, gardening, cooking, loving on her grandkids, travel and assisting others. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Tinsley Donnell, sister, Kathryn Little Ballard and a grandson, Nicholas Scott Rackley. Her survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Donnell Rackley; son, David Tinsley Donnell; grandchildren, Laura Donnell Dickey (Shannon), Hillary Donnell, Isabella Donnell and Kristen Rackley McCafferty (Robert); great grandchildren, Kai, Kalia, Lila, Xander, Roan and many other loving relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens of Fairhope on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send donation to The Friends of The Daphne Public Library or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
