Carolyn Virginia Church

Carolyn Virginia Church, age 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Fairhope, Alabama on Sunday, July 26, 2020. She was born in Citronelle, Alabama on April 30, 1931. She was the daughter of Cecil Boothe and Mary Ruth Gartman Boothe. Her mother died tragically young and her father raised her along with her three sisters and two brothers. She married Pleasant Jesse Church, Jr. on May 28, 1953 when he returned from serving in the Korean War. They had three children, Steven Andrew, David Gregory and Karen Ruth. Carolyn was a giving person. She helped countless people over the years and was a comfort to many. Sadly, their oldest son lost his life to cancer at a young age, but her faith and love for her husband and family helped her through this difficult time. She is survived by her husband, Pleasant Jesse Church, Jr, her son, David Church (Georgia) her daughter, Karen Flowers (Kenneth) her grandchildren, Carla Bundy, Amanda Lopez, Nathan Church, Kimberly Anderson, Jessica Stokes and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly. She celebrated 67 years of marriage with her husband and lived a life full of love, beauty and grace. She was loved and will be sorely missed. Services will be held at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope, Alabama on Friday, July 31st, with visitation beginning at 10am and services following at 11am.
