Carol Anderson Smith

Carol Anderson Smith, age 80, a resident of Orange Beach, Alabama passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Carol Anderson Smith was born Carol Jane Anderson on January 14th, 1944, in the small tugboat community of Port Townsend, Washington.

From an early age she had a love of animals, dance, music and riding her bike to church on Sundays. These loves traveled with her through her life.

Her family relocated to Hillsboro, Oregon and this is where she built a family of her own. She raised two children, Kelly Lon Ott and Traci Ott Guillory. She thrived as a homemaker. As a young mother, she developed into a master seamstress. She would join her kids on field trips, and make pies, fluting and decorating them just as her mother did in Port Townsend.

After the kids had grown, she started working in the car dealership business which led to her relocation to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In Baton Rouge is where she'd tell you she met her one true love, Marvin Lee Smith. Together they saw the world while also enjoying the simple things at home, like lunch with good friends, a game of golf, or crosswords with her morning coffee. After retirement her roots settled in Orange Beach, Alabama, a place she would ultimately call home. Enjoying sunsets, dancing to good music, laughing and cherishing time with friends and family, with firm belief that these were the most important things to have in your life.

Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin Lee Smith; her dearest children; her son, Kelly Ott (Rebecca Ott), stepdaughter, Renee Lefeaux (Eddie Lefeaux), stepson, Brad Smith (Monique Smith); her adored grandchildren; Kelli Guillory, Jessica Moulazimis (Alexander Moulazimis), Brian Ott (Ceirra Ott), Angela Costanza (Justin Costanza), Madeline Lefeaux, Allison Lefeaux, Hannah Smith and Connor Smith, her great grandchildren; Devin Guillory, Ciara Guillory, Waylon Ott, and Riley Ott, her brother, Charlie Anderson, and nieces; Jenny Anderson and Kristin Farm.

Carol was preceded in death by her daughter Traci Ott Guillory, her father, Carl August Anderson, her mother, Catherine Charlotte Anderson and brother, Peter Archie Anderson. 

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
