BILLY RAY SLOAN FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA Billy Ray Sloan, age 86, a resident Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022. Billy played football on a scholarship at Hiawassee College in Hiawassee, Tennessee. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran and served in Vietnam. Billy was a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church. He enjoyed sports and the outdoors. He loved his family. Billy was proceeded in death by his wife, Peggy Sloan. Billy is survived by his sons, Steve Sloan (Sandy) of Fairhope, Rod Sloan (Brenda) of Fairhope, daughter, Paula Word (Joe) of Fairhope; sisters, Crystal Ratto, Fran Stansdury; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 2:00pm, in Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
