Bethany Nelson Reid

Bethany Nelson Reid, age 65, a resident of Fairhope, AL, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020. She earned her BS in Early Childhood Education at the University of Alabama and was in the Delta Zeta Sorority. She was a retired pre-school teacher where she taught 2nd grade for 6 years in Fairfield, AL; preschool at Ashland Place in Mobile, and over 20 years at Country Day School in Fairhope. Bethany was a member of the Junior League of Mobile and the Junior Auxiliary of Eastern Shore. She was also a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a faithful Alabama football fan. Bethany is survived by her husband, Dr. Jack H. Reid, Jr. of Fairhope; sons, Jack “Joey” H. Reid, III of Fairhope and William Nelson Reid (Karen) of Lynchburg, VA; brother, William Russell Nelson (Anita) of Niceville, FL; sister-in-law, Janice Covert (Larry) nephew, Drew Covert; nieces, Amanda Covert Wilbanks (Marshall), Amy Nelson McDonald and Laura Cothren; other relatives and many friends.
