Bessie Flowers Wallace

Bessie Flowers Wallace, age 85, a resident of Foley, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

She was a teacher at Foley Elementary School and was a member of Foley First Baptist Church.  Being a strong woman of Faith in the Lord, she was active in visiting local shut-ins, checking on friends with phone calls, sending cards of encouragement, and many other acts of kindness to show her love.   She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a passion for serving others. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Bertie Mae Flowers; sister and brother-in-law, June and Hugh Gabbard; brother, Dr. Leon Flowers.

She is survived by her daughters, Mae (Patrick) Laurendine, Magnolia Springs, AL, and Marie (Gary) Fiala, Foley, AL; sisters, Jane Bulick, Nashville, TN and Marti (Lynn) Lovelady, Snellville, GA; brothers, Dr. William (Janie) Flowers, Pensacola, FL, Troy (Twila) Flowers, Franklin, TN, Kyle (Sondra) Flowers, Alvin, TX, Gary Flowers, Foley, AL and Charlie Flowers, Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Dolly Flowers; grandchildren, Jordan (Hannah) Fiala, Jarred Fiala, Laura Kate Laurendine, Madeline Laurendine and Annabelle (Daniel) Vieira; great-granddaughter, Olivia Monroe Fiala; many other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 28, 2022 at the First Baptist Church, Foley. 

Interment will follow in Pleasant View Baptist Cemetery, Foley.
