Bernice E. Dent

Bernice Elsberry Dent, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2020. She was born July 13, 1931, in Lewisburg Alabama, to Helon C. Elsberry and Wyone Elsberry Barton. She graduated from Tarrant High School in 1949. Soon after graduation she moved to Fairhope, AL, where she would remain rooted throughout the rest of her life. She was a devout Christian and the beloved wife of Charles “Cecil” E. Dent. Survived by her two children, Lynda Dent Bankston Godwin (Thomas) and Charles Milner Dent, and their families as well as a plethora of extended family, including, but not limited to nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews. Bernice was known to her 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild as “MeMaw;” Jason (Chassity) Bankston, Jeremy (Jessica Ramm) Bankston, Jaime (Brian) Burkett, Laurie (Justin) Dent Barker, Chris (Jessica) Dent , Dylan (Nikki) Gebhart, Erin Bankston, Kandace Burkett, Lexi Barker, Reese Barker, Briggs Barker, Elaina Gebhart. Her grace and compassion knew no bounds and will be dearly missed. Family, friends, and others whose lives have been touched by her are invited to WOLFE-BAYVIEW FUNERAL HOME, 19698 Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL, 36532, on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Visitation will be held from 2pm to 3:30 pm to reminisce, grieve, and celebrate her life together. Graveside services will follow at 4pm at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
