Bernhard Peter Bremer

Bernhard “Peter” Bremer, July 12, 1932 – April 26, 2019. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, he is preceded in death by his parents, “Boots” Bremer and Alliene White Bremer, and baby son, David Peter Bremer. Shortly after his birth his father, a geologist with Texaco., moved the family south to Mississippi, Texas, and Louisiana. Settling in New Orleans, Pete attended Lafayette Grammar School, Fortier High School, and LSU in Baton Rouge, where he was a member of Sigma Chi. After serving in the US Army, it was in New Orleans when he met Dorothy Ann Egdorf who was to become his wife, now of nearly 63 years.  A degree in Petroleum Engineering and employment with Texaco, Inc. meant living in Houma, La., and New Iberia, La., and moving back to N.O. , La. with their two children, Jim and Nancy.  After 35 years with Texaco, Pete retired and he and Dot relocated in Fairhope, Alabama.  Pete has served as an elder in Trinity Presbyterian Church, and was active in the Eastern Shore Art Center, Baldwin County Master Gardeners, Fairhope Museum of History, Baldwin Rose Society, Fairhope Harbor Committee and Eastern Shore Institute for Lifelong Learning.  Pete is survived by his wife, Dot, children James Ernest Bremer, Nancy Ann Bremer Styron Bouler (Paul), grandchildren Elizabeth Ashton Styron Tabb (Collin), Andrew Thomas Styron, Adam Stuart Bremer, and great-grandson Thomas Fisher Tabb. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, 2.00, followed by a reception in Trinity Hall.  Interment will be in Trinity Presbyterian Church columbarium at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Organ Fund.
