Bernadine Anne Vogt Hanks, 96, a resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025.
Bernadine was born and raised in Jackson, Michigan. She was a lifelong resident of Baldwin County, AL., and a dedicated member of Christ the King Church in Daphne, AL. Where she played the organ and was a long-time member of the choir. She was a seamstress at home after retiring from Vanity Fair. In addition to making all her daughter’s wedding dresses, many sought her out to create Mardi Gras gowns. In her spare time, she enjoyed shrimping with her husband in Mobile Bay.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin A. Hanks, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Christine Anne Sherer (Brown) of Spanish Fort, AL., Patricia Martha Parsons (Frank) of LaGrange, GA., Nancy Anne Hanks of Fairhope, AL. son Marvin “Marty” Hanks III (Debra) of Daphne, AL; Barbara Anne Burgess (Thad) of Franklin, TN., and; step-sister, Rita Stark of Jackson, MI; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held in the Daphne Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00am.
The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Belforest Catholic Cemetery in Daphne, AL.
