Benjamin Stancil Purvis, age 39, a longtime resident of Magnolia Springs and Foley, passed away Wednesday, November 23.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Louise Purvis and Jim and Anne Stewart.
Following graduation from Foley High School, he later attended Bishop State Community College where he studied Emergency Medicine. Benjamin had a passion for firefighting and the field of emergency response, where he served in a variety of capacities.
He was known and loved for his great spirit and would do anything for anyone, anytime.
Survivors include his parents, John, Sr., and Lisa Purvis; one brother, John Purvis, Jr.,(Melanie); one sister, Dr. Courtney Taylor (Don) of Canton Mississippi; one niece, Brooklyn Purvis; one nephew, Grant Purvis; uncles, Jim Stewart, Clark Stewart (Patti) and Burt Hinson (Reva); and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
