Barry Joseph Corona, age 85, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away on April 10, 2021. He was peacefully at home with his loved ones.
Barry was born August 30, 1935, in Three Bridges, New Jersey, to Freda and Raynold Corona. He had a PhD in Chemistry and taught at several colleges and universities. He graduated from Notre Dame University in 1957, had a Master’s Degree from Stanford University in California, and a PhD from LSU. He retired from teaching several years ago and enjoyed reading and following Notre Dame football, especially.
Survivors include his loving wife, Gloria Gayden Corona to whom he was married for 36 years; his sons Dr. Raynold J. Corona and Austin Dean Corona, of Baton Rouge, LA; his stepchildren Leslie Gayden Hall of Tuscaloosa, AL, Julius Jernigan Hall of Atlanta, GA, and Dr. Lillian M. Ringsdorf of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Abbey and Michael Corona of Fallston, MD, and Macy and Maya Hall of Atlanta, GA; his sister, Fia Pfeiffer of Lambertville, NJ; and his 19 year old dog, Tommy, whom he loved dearly.
