Barbara "Bobbie" Ann Baggette

Barbara Ann (Bobbie) Baggette passed away on March 19, 2023, at Thomas Hospital. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Mack and Ruth Baggette, her sister Betty Jean Baggette and her grandparents Frank and Kate Rayford, Annie and Seebe Baggette. Bobbie is survived by her sister Frances Seale (Daphne); and brother Johnny Baggette (Marcella); nieces, Kelly Kennedy, Nancy L. Seale and Allison (Michael) Carter; nieces, Dawn (DuWayne) Carney, Julie Mitchell; nephew, Johnny M. Baggette, Jr. (Christine), She is also survived by her great nieces, Jordan Leigh Carter; Nicole (Drew) Ray and Brooke (Ryan) McLean; Victoria, Caroline and Catherine Baggette; and great nephews, Joshua Michael Carter; Austin and Ryan Carney and Jonathan Baggette. Great great nieces and nephews Braxton, Tenley, Colton and Emma Merriweather. Bobbie is also survived by her lifelong school friend, Cecilia Roberts Fuller. Bobbie was City Clerk of Daphne for 22-1/2 year. She also worked at Bayview Funeral Home and in earlier years, worked at her parents’ grocery store, Rayford & Baggette. She received Clerk of the Year Award in 1982 and in 1990 she received an award for improvement of record accounting procedures from the Alabama League of Municipalities Certified Accountants. Bobbie was a long-time member of Daphne Baptist Church in which she served in many capacities - teacher and church clerk. She loved her church and her pastors. She dearly loved all the young people and treasured them as her own and provided transportation for many of their endeavors. Bobbie loved meeting with her Nifty Fifty class members each month. She would have turned 91 on March 21st. Graveside Services will be Monday, March 27th at 11:00 AM in Daphne Baptist Cemetery.
