Barbara Ann Blaze, born June 29, 1938, to Maj. Clayton Riley Biddle and Doris Schlutter Biddle in LaCrosse, WI. was called to her Heavenly home on January 18th, 2022. After traveling from military base to military base while growing up, she finally ended up at Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC where she graduated from Ursuline High School in 1956. While at Ursuline High School, she met Louie Blaze whom she would later marry on November 23th, 1957. Over the next 64 years of marriage, she would live in Columbia, SC, Augusta, GA, Aiken, SC, Mobile, AL, and finally settling in Fairhope, AL in September of 1997. In addition to being a devoted wife and loving mother to 3 children she was active in the community. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she reached the Order of the Rose and was later elected as Chapter Sweetheart. She was a volunteer substitute teacher at Holy Family parochial school where she also coached school soccer teams for several years. She had the honor of reigning over the 1994 Order of Inca Ball. After arriving in Fairhope, she continued serving the community with the Chamber of Commerce, Arts and Crafts Festival, Fairhope Museum of History, and the Fairhope Welcome Center where she especially enjoyed greeting and helping visitors by answering their questions. Along with her husband, she received the 2013 Quality of Life Award given by the City of Fairhope. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Louie Blaze, daughter, Gina Kiser (Jerry) of Mobile, AL; son, Louie J Blaze II of Fairhope, AL; daughter Jennifer Cooke(Darren) of Mobile, AL; grandchildren Elise Wiik (Julian), Emily Barr (Forrest), Bailey and Georgia Blaze, Abigail and Jacob Cooke; great-grandchildren, Kiser and Vivian Wiik, Eva Claire and Grady Barr. She was preceded in death by her parents. Information on services will be announced at a later date.
