Augusta Damrell Threadgill Bain

Augusta Damrell Threadgill Bain of Daphne, AL died on March 19, 2019 surrounded by her children. Damrell was preceded in death by her husband, Robert David Bain, Jr and her brothers, Ollie Rix Threadgill, Jr and William Henderson Threadgill. She is survived by her children R. David Bain, III (Trenee’), Andrew Neaf Damrell Bain and Whitney Bain Wingbermuehle (Steven); grandchildren Robert D. Bain IV, Sophie Damrell Bain, Thomas Clark Bain, Isabel Mae Wingbermuehle and James Bain Wingbermuehle; sister Elizabeth Threadgill Valliere; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Damrell was born September 10, 1944 to O.R. and Isabel Threadgill. She was a graduate of Julius T. Wright and received her B.A. degree from Alabama College (now University of Montevallo), as well as her M.Ed from the University of South Alabama. Following graduation, she spent twenty-five years sharpening the minds of second graders at Daphne Elementary and Crossroads Elementary. Her greatest loves were her grandchildren, pets, watching sunsets from her home on the bay and spending time annually with her college friends in SSG (Same Sweet Girls). A Celebration of Life service will be held at Government Street Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 12pm.
