Arthur Dennis Ledbetter, Jr.

Arthur Dennis Ledbetter, Jr, died on January 20, 2021, surrounded by family at his home in Fairhope, Alabama after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 77. Dennis was born on December 16, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was the first of six children. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps in 1966, he met the love of his life, Barbara Maxine Faircloth, his bride of 53 years. Dennis and Barbara lived in Mobile until 1993 when they moved to Fairhope to develop the vision that Dennis had for Moss Oak Court. During the rare time he was not fixing something while listening to the oldies station or working in his yard, he could be found watching Alabama football, the 5:00 news or the weather channel. His family and friends will always remember Dennis as a steady and prudent man who cherished his family and his faith. Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Mark Whitney Ledbetter, parents, Arthur & Sarah Ledbetter, brother, Ronnie Ledbetter and sister, Martha Ledbetter Smith. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his daughter, Ashleigh Ledbetter McKenzie (Bricken), grandchildren, Richardson Bricken McKenzie V and Ann Auxford McKenzie; siblings, Frankie (Melvin) Lee, Frank (Terri) Ledbetter, Donnie Ledbetter, Kirby Faircloth (Brenda), June Champion, Joy Alexander (Rick), many nieces and nephews and a host of amazing friends. A social distance service will take place at 2:00pm Sunday on the front lawn of Fairhope United Methodist Church.
